GAME PREVIEW: Gulls and Heat Meet for Sixth Time This Season (7:05 p.m.)
San Diego enters tonight’s contest with a 25-20-1-1 (52 points) record on the season. Stockton’s current record is 21-21-1-2 with 45 points. The teams last met on February 5, a home contest where the Gulls walked away with a 4-2 victory.
During that matchup, Gulls winger Bryan Moore opened scoring for San Diego just over five minutes into the first period. Matt Berry followed with his own goal at 6:31 to give the Gulls a 2-0 lead, which they held going into the intermission.
Stockton’s Derek Grant decreased the deficit to one with a power play goal at 16:13 of the second period.
Shane O’Brien netted the third Gulls goal at 7:13 of the final frame to stretch the lead back to two. Heat center Turner Elson scored the second and final Stockton goal with just under six minutes remaining in the final frame, but Gulls center Joseph Cramarossa sealed the score with a goal of his own with thirty seconds left in regulation.
San Diego and Stockton will face each other seven more times this season (including tonight). Three of these contests will be held at Valley View Casino Center and four will be held at Stockton Arena in Stockton, CA.
