GAME PREVIEW: Gulls Face Milwaukee Admirals for Second and Final Time this Season (7:05 p.m.)

The San Diego Gulls and Milwaukee Admirals (AHL affiliate of the Nashville Predators) will meet for the second time this season, tonight. The Gulls are 20-18-1-1 (42 points) after a 4-2 win over the Stockton Heat last night. Milwaukee enters tonight’s matchup with a season record of 28-13-3-0 (59 points), winning five of their last six contests.

The Admirals walked away victorious is the last meeting vs. the Gulls, a 3-1 victory for them on home ice. Milwaukee winger Kevin Fiala opened scoring just 3:28 into the first frame. Gulls center Chris Mueller answered back to tie the game at one with a power play goal just over the halfway mark of the first period. Admirals Frederick Gaudreau netted a goal with two minutes and 23 seconds left in the middle frame to put Milwaukee up 2-1 heading into the third period. The Gulls received four power play opportunities in the third period, but couldn’t capitalize. Admirals forward Adam Payerl sealed the final score with an empty net goal at 19:38 in the final frame.

This will be the final meeting between the two teams during the regular season. Puck drop is set for 7:05pm tonight at Valley View Casino Center.
