GAME PREVIEW: San Diego and Bakersfield Meet for the Ninth Time (7:00p.m.)

The Gulls and Condors last met on Feb. 19, a road contest resulting in a 3-2 Gulls victory. Tonight, the Gulls will face the Condors for the ninth time this season, again on the road at Rabobank Arena in Bakersfield, CA. Bakersfield currently leads the season series between the two clubs, 5-3.

On Feb. 19, San Diego’s Andrew O’Brien opened scoring at 16:13 of the first period to put the Gulls up by one heading to the locker room after the opening frame.

Shortly into the middle period, Gulls winger Matt Bailey netted San Diego’s second goal; a shorthanded goal at 2:55. Joseph Cramarossa stretched the lead to three at 9:13 of the frame.

Condors winger Andrew Miller closed the gap further with a goal at 8:39 of the third period, but it was too little too late for the comeback.

Total shots for the game favored the Condors, 27-25.

The Gulls and Condors will meet four more times in the regular season (including tonight). Tonight’s contest will be the last at Rabobank Arena. The remaining three matchups will be at Valley View Casino Center. San Diego enters tonight’s contest with a season record of 28-20-2-2 (60 points) and Bakersfield with a record of 25-22-3-2 (55 points).
