GAME PREVIEW: San Diego and Ontario Meet for Game 3 and Second of Back-to-Backs Tonight (7:00 p.m. PT)

The Gulls look for first series win after falling 2-1 in overtime to Ontario last night. The Reign lead the series 2-0 going into Game 3.

Last night’s Game 2 took place at Valley View Casino Center in San Diego. Gulls left wing Nick Ritchie opened scoring at 3:22 of the first period.

San Diego held the one goal lead until 1:39 of the third period when Kris Newbury scored on the Reign power play. Neither team could find the back of the net again in regulation, forcing an overtime decision.

Justin Auger sealed the victory for Ontario with an OT goal at 11:55 of the extra period.

Gulls goalie Matt Hackett stopped 42 of 44 shots in the contest. San Diego had 27 shots on goal.
