GAME PREVIEW: San Diego Takes on Charlotte in Second of Back-to-Backs Tonight (4:00 p.m. PT)

The Gulls (22-19-1-1; 46 points) face off against the Charlotte Checkers (25-18-3-2; 55 points) at Bojangles’ Coliseum in Charlotte, NC after an overtime victory last night.

In last night’s contest, San Diego opened scoring with just 51 seconds remaining in the first period with a goal by defenseman Brandon Montour.

The Checkers evened out the score halfway through the second period with a goal by Brody Sutter. San Diego’s Bryan Moore netted his second of the season and the Gulls’ second of the game at 15:35 in the frame.

Charlotte tied the game with just one minute and 20 seconds remaining in regulation; a power play goal by left wing Brendan Woods to send the game into 3-on-3 overtime.

Center Mike Sgarbossa sealed the Gulls victory one minute and 27 seconds into overtime, assisted by Brandon Montour and Stefan Noesen.

This will be the final matchup between the two teams in the 2015-16 regular season.
