Gulls to Honor the Armed Forces During Military Week

The Gulls are proud to be in San Diego, a city with one of the largest military populations in the country. To celebrate the city’s close ties to the Armed Forces and honor the men and women who serve our country, the Gulls have announced special events and promotions taking place during Military Week, a series of three home games next week.

On Wednesday, the Gulls will honor those who have served, both past and present, on Veterans Day (Nov. 11). Local businesses can purchase a block of tickets which will be distributed to veterans free-of-charge through the Wounded Warrior Support Network. Contact Justin Sawyer (619-359-4718) for details. Join us at 7:05 p.m. as the Gulls face the Bakersfield Condors for the third time this season. The Gulls will hit the ice wearing special camo jerseys to honor the troops. Enjoy an intermission scrimmage by the San Diego Ducks Sled Hockey Team. Come early and enjoy a special midweek $2 beer night. Bud Light will be $2 from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. and available at all serving stations in the building.

On Friday, feel the need for speed as we enter the Danger Zone for a fun night of hockey as the Gulls face the San Jose Barracuda at 7:05 p.m. Enjoy another $2 beer night, available at all Friday night home games. Doors will open at 5 p.m. and $2 Bud Light will be served from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. at all serving stations inside the building.

Saturday will be the grand finale with Salute to Heroes, the Gulls official Military Appreciation game. Come early for the pregame tailgate with happy hour drink specials. The Gulls will again break out special camo jerseys for the night’s contest. Local legend, Captain Jack Ensch, will start things off with the ceremonial puck drop. Enjoy a “Battle of the Boats” as seamen from the USS Makin Island and USS Carl Vinson compete in on-ice activities. A special free postgame skate will take place after the final horn for military members with a valid ID and their immediate family.
