Each month, Gulls In Flight goes on the road for a special live podcast taping. Our January trip took us to our favorite San Diego-style dive bar off Midway Drive, Banzai Bar! A great crowd of Gulls fans joined B.J. MacPherson and Craig Elsten on Wednesday, January 4, as we hashed over the Gulls’ four-game points streak, and the latest edition of Ups and Downs, with Brandon Montour getting a long-awaited call-up to the NHL Anaheim Ducks. Then, we were joined for a terrific, funny and candid conversation by the top-line starting center of the San Diego Gulls, Stefan Noesen. December saw Noesen get his first extended run in the NHL, playing with the Ducks for three weeks during a long road trip through the East Coast and Canada. Since returning to the AHL, Stefan has a goal in each game to help the Gulls get back on the winning track. “Noes” dishes on his teammates, the speed of the NHL, his first goal in the big leagues, and much more. We taped in front of a packed house on November 15 at UltraStar Cinemas in Hazard Center, where the new documentary “Ice Guardians” was screened for the first time in San Diego. Hosts Craig Elsten and B.J.
