GAME PREVIEW: The Gulls Look to Sweep the Rampage in Final Matchup of the Regular Season (7:05 p.m. PT).

The Gulls (31-20-2-2; 66 points) face the San Antonio Rampage (24-31-8-0; 56 points) for the last time in the regular season tonight, at Valley View Casino Center. San Diego has been victorious in all five previous matchups with San Antonio this season. The Gulls and Rampage last met on February 26, a contest resulting in a 5-1 Gulls victory.

In the matchup, forward Ondrej Kase opened scoring for the Gulls at 4:35 of the opening period. Chris Mueller stretched the lead to two with a power play goal just 21 seconds before the frame ended.

San Antonio got on the board at 3:47 of the second period with a goal by Joey Hishon. Shea Theodore answered back minutes later to make it a 3-1 game. Kyle MacKinnon’s goal at 14:31 of the period sent the Gulls to the locker room up by three.

Nice Kerdiles scored the solo goal of the third frame at 7:16 on the power play to settle the final score.

Gulls goalie Anton Khudobin stopped 36 of 37 Rampage shots. San Diego had 38 shots in the contest.
