Reading Is The Goal

Reading is the Goal is a free program open to elementary school grade classrooms in the Greater San Diego Area. We coordinate directly with school district leadership, principals and teachers to encourage classrooms to sign up and participate.  

The San Diego Gulls Reading is the Goal Program’s objective is to convey the importance of reading as the foundation to success and to help students cultivate a life-long love for reading. The program encourages students to read as much as they can and record their daily reading times on an official Reading Is the Goal form. The San Diego Gulls reward students based on their participation and personal achievement. 

Our 2024 Reading is the Goal program has come to a close. We want to thank the 300+ classrooms throughout San Diego County who participated this past school year. If you’re a teacher who’s interested in participating next year, please fill out the interest form below.
