Let’s celebrate our veterans!

Join us tonight at Pechanga Arena San Diego for a celebration honoring active and retired service members at the Gulls’ Military Appreciation Night with a special start time of 6 p.m. PST.

San Diego will be wearing specialty red, white, and blue jerseys throughout tonight’s game in honor of Veterans Day. Correspondingly, fans are invited to support the Gulls in style as the first 8,000 attendees at tonight’s game will receive a free Gulls hat, brought to you by Indian Motorcycle of San Diego. Additional military-themed memorabilia will also be available at all merchandise stands this evening.

To commemorate tonight’s special event, the San Diego Gulls Foundation will host a game-worn jersey auction and a military-themed Surprise Puck sale, with proceeds raised from these activities being donated to the Armed Services YMCA.

Inside Pechanga Arena San Diego tonight, the Gulls host the Colorado Eagles. The two teams last faced off in San Diego’s final game of their regular season last April.

With new changes made on the San Diego team since their last contest against Colorado, the Gulls look to fly like an eagle tonight in rising above the challenges they faced in Friday night’s loss to the Calgary Wranglers.

San Diego gathered some pace in the second period of last night’s matchup. Nathan Gaucher put the Gulls up on the scoreboard, marking his first professional goal at 6:34 of the second period.

Jacob Perreault scored the team’s second goal of the night, collecting his fourth goal of this season in the second. They fought until the end, but ultimately the Gulls found themselves unable to rebound following the tone Calgary set early in the game, scoring four goals by the end of the first period.

Now facing the Colorado Eagles on Gulls home ice tonight, San Diego will look to capture the win as they wrap up the second game of this weekend’s back-to-back battles.

“That’s all you can look forward to is the next opportunity,” head coach Matt McIlvane said “The challenge is how fast can you reset. That’s what we’ve got 24 hours to figure out.”

While the Gulls will be bringing their game face to tonight’s game, fans should bring their military identification cards. All local veterans, service members and military support organizations will receive free parking in any general lot at Pechanga Arena San Diego by showing their identification card to parking attendants.
