The San Diego Gulls fell to the Ontario Reign in overtime tonight in game two of the back-to-back rivalry series at Toyota Arena, 4-3.

Ontario was on the board first with a three-goal lead a quarter into the middle frame.

San Diego caught up on the deficit with a goal by Jan Mysak. The center logged his second goal of the season and seventh point. Sasha Pastujov skated in his 100th career AHL game, picking up the assist for his fifth on the season. Roland McKeown also got a piece of the puck, ending a six-game point drought for defenseman which brought his assist count to four.

Defenseman Noah Warren found the back of the net next, logging his first career AHL goal. The goal was unassisted and brings Warren’s season points to 1-3=4, matching his total point count last season.

With only 91 seconds left in regulation, Tim Washe found a goal on the rebound to tie the game. This goal brings the rookies’ point streak to four games and raises his team-leading goal count to six. Matthew Phillips picked up an assist, bringing his team-leading total to 10 while Ryan Carpenter logged his fourth.

Ontario was able to grab the extra point and bury one to take the game in overtime.

Goaltender Calle Clang took the net for the start of the game, saving nine shots for the Gulls. Ville Husso took over in the second period for the remainder of the game, saving eight shots. He also stopped the sixth career AHL penalty shot, making him a perfect 6-for-6.

The Gulls will take on the Bakersfield Condors next at Pechanga Arena San Diego on Friday, November 14th at 7 p.m. PST.
