The San Diego Gulls continue their playoff push as they take on the Bakersfield Condors tonight at Pechanga Arena San Diego (7 p.m. PDT; TV: AHLTV on FloHockey; Radio: Gulls Audio Network).

"It's a big game," Tyson Hinds said. "Every game is pretty big. Our last Friday home game and we want to give a good big show to our crowd here. They’ve supported us through everything all year long, so we're going to be ready. We just need to play the same way we did tonight and pretty sure, we’ll be fine no matter who it is."

San Diego has gone 4-1-0-0 against the Condors this season and compete in their sixth matchup tonight. The last time the teams played against each other, the Gulls took a 7-4 victory. The Condors have gone 6-3-1-0 in their past 10 contests while the Gulls have gone 5-5-0-0 in their past 10 and are coming off a shutout victory over the Tucson Roadrunners.

Tucson and San Diego competed on Wednesday night where Calle Clang recorded his third career AHL shutout. Tyson Hinds started the scoring, logging his fifth goal of the season which set a new single season career high for the defenseman. Jan Mysak found his first goal since returning from injury, bringing him to 10 total this season. Nico Myatovic found the final goal with an empty netter, marking his second point of the night.

The win over the Roadrunners gave the Gulls some more cushion with their playoff spot. The Gulls now take a three-point lead over the Roadrunners. The team must keep their momentum going in the final stretch of the regular season to ensure that playoff spot.

"I think we've been in the mentality of postseason hockey for a while now, and every game is a big game," head coach Matt McIlvane said. "Every moment's a big moment. What we're doing is we're accumulating experiences that we can keep getting better at it and understanding how important all the little things are. As a coach, you have a vision for what your team's capable of and we checked a lot of boxes in the in the game today."

The Gulls have added a new name to their roster as the Anaheim Ducks 2025 first round draft pick Roger McQueen joins the team for his AHL debut. The 19-year-old forward was selected 10th overall in last year’s draft and just finished the NCAA season with Providence College, where he was named the Hockey East Rookie of the Year after posting 11-16=27 points and +5 rating. McQueen helped Providence to an NCAA Hockey East Regular Season Championship and was named to the NCAA Hockey East All-Rookie Team.

"I like to try and play as confidently as possible and play hard and physically," McQueen said. "Obviously, I like to put the puck in the back of the net, but I like to help the guys out and play with them. I mean, I like to enjoy hockey, so I like to have fun. The best me is when I'm confident."

San Diego will next face off with the San Jose Barracuda for the final time this regular season on Tuesday, Apr. 7 at Tech CU Arena (1 p.m. PDT).
