The San Diego Gulls defeated the Henderson Silver Knights 4-0 in today's matchup at Orleans Arena in Las Vegas.

Jacob Larsson led the offensive attack, recording the first multi-goal performance of his American Hockey League career. Bryce Kindopp recorded two assists as the Gulls swept the weekend series in Henderson, earning the franchise's first two wins at Orleans Arena.

Lukas Dostal stopped 27 shots to record his first AHL shutout. He's the youngest netminder to record a shutout for the Gulls (21 years, eight months, five days). It's San Diego's first shutout since Mar. 2, 2019 at Stockton (3-0, Jeff Glass - 20 saves.)

Third Period Recap

Larsson scored his second goal of the game, pushing the Gulls lead to four at 3:13 of the final frame.

Danny O'Regan won an offensive zone faceoff, guiding the puck to Larsson at the point. The Swedish defenseman sent a floating shot through traffic and past the stunned Dylan Ferguson for the first multi-goal performance of his American Hockey League career.

O'Regan, the former Silver Knight, collected his fourth point (2-2=4) of the weekend series.

Second Period Recap

Alex Limoges continued his stellar weekend, extending San Diego's lead at 2:23 of the middle frame.

An effective forecheck led to the goal, as Kindopp and Jacob Perreault forced a turnover in the corner of the Henderson zone. Perreault's pass found a streaking Limoges, who tucked a backhand shot through the legs of Ferguson for his team-leading 11th goal of the season.

Limoges - who collected two goals in last night's win - has three goals in the weekend series.

Kindopp collected his second assist, matching a season-high for helpers in a game. Perreault, who snapped a five-game pointless drought last night, has assists in back-to-back games.

Greg Printz pushed the lead to three with 4:32 left in the period.

Trevor Carrick thwarted a Henderson odd-man rush at his blue line, sending a pass to Lucas Elvenes for a rush opportunity. The former Silver Knight carried it over the blue line on a 2-on-1 opportunity, sending a hard wrist shot off the blocker of Ferguson. The Henderson goalie couldn't corral the rebound and Printz converted, pushing the puck past the desperate Ferguson for his seventh goal of the season.

Elvenes continued to haunt his former team, collecting a point in both games of this weekend series.

First Period Recap

Larsson opened the scoring, netting his first goal of the season at 3:39 of the opening period.

Just minutes prior, Larsson took a tripping penalty, the game's first infraction. San Diego killed off the man advantage, with Kindopp finding Larsson streaking free from the box. The Swedish defenseman moved in alone on Ferguson, momentarily losing the puck before collecting it and sending his shot past the Henderson netminder for the goal.

Moments later, Hunter Drew and Matt Boudens dropped the gloves for a spirited bout in the neutral zone.

Ferguson is 4-3-0 with a 2.99 GAA, .907 SV% and one shutout in a career-high 11 games this season. He enters today following a 30-save effort in a loss to the Tucson Roadrunners on Feb. 19.

Dostal is in net for the Gulls, stopping all nine shots he faced in the opening period. The Czechia native enters today with a 10-8-0 record, a 2.65 goals-against average (GAA) and .911 save percentage (SV%). Over his last nine games, Dostal posted a 5-2-0 record with a 1.83 GAA and a .945 SV%.

Pregame News And Notes

San Diego enters the afternoon looking to sweep the back-to-back set at Orleans Arena. The Gulls took the front end of the weekend series last night, earning their first franchise win in Las Vegas with a dominant 5-2 victory. Key to the team's success was its power play, which scored a season-high three times in the win. San Diego's man-advantage is 4-for-9 (44.4%) against Henderson this season.

O'Regan burned his old team for three points (2-1=3), while Vinni Lettieri and Greg Pateryn each recorded three assists. Limoges (2-0=2) joined O'Regan with a multi-goal performance, his first since Oct. 29 at Tucson.

The offense supported a 27-save effort from Dostal, who earned his 25th career win. The victory moved him past Anthony Stolarz and into second place on San Diego's all-time goaltender wins list.

Henderson enters this afternoon with losses in three of its last four games. Despite the setbacks, leading scorer Pavel Dorofeyev continues to make an impact. He collected one of Henderson's two goals last night and leads all Silver Knights with 19-16=35 points. Rookie defenseman Daniil Miromanov collected another assist in the loss and enters today second among rookie defenseman with 24 helpers. He sits sixth among all AHL blueliners with 6-24=30 points.
