Celebrate 10 Years in the AHL at Our Home Opener
Join us at Pechanga Arena on Saturday, October 18th, for our home opener against the Henderson Silver Knights and the debut of a new alternate jersey for this season only. We are excited to celebrate 10 years in the AHL in front of America's Finest Fans.
After two seasons of continuous improvement, the team is ready to make some noise in the Pacific Division. Matt McIlvane has added a wealth of experience and prestige to his coaching staff. Dave Manson brings 20-plus years of coaching experience in both professional and junior hockey, most notably reaching the Western Conference Finals with the Edmonton Oilers in 2022. Michael Babcock also joins the staff, after spending the last two seasons with the St. Louis Blues as a Skills Coach from 2023-25. Prior to his stint with the Blues, Babcock spent 2022-23 with the Ottawa Senator where he aided the coaching staff in developing game plans, pre-scouting, and in on-ice skill development.
We've also added some strong veteran players to our roster. In addition to bringing back Judd Caulfield, Will Francis and Travis Howe, Nikolas Brouillard and Matthew Phillips join the squad. Brouillard comes back to the Gulls after co-leading Coachella Valley's defensemen in goals and points. Phillips comes to San Diego after an impressive season with the Colorado Eagles, where he led the team in points. Both players bring strong playoff experience as well.
Make sure to get to Pechanga Arena early for our massive 10-Year Celebration Tailgate. This will feature food, games, drink specials and a special orange carpet ceremony featuring the team. Festivities kick off at 4 p.m. PT. More information will be added to this page the closer we get to the Home Opener. We will also be giving out jersey rally towels and light up wrist band for the first 8k fans!
