The San Diego Gulls look to extend their point streak to four games tonight when they face the San Jose Barracuda at SAP Center (8:00 p.m. PT, TV: AHL TV, RADIO: Gulls Audio Network). San Diego earned points in eight of the last nine contests (6-1-2-0) and improved to 8-2-3 the last 13 road contests.

The Gulls moved into the fourth and final playoff position in the Pacific Division last night, grabbing a crucial point in a 3-2 overtime loss. Justin Kloos and Chase De Leo scored for San Diego, who raced out to a 2-0 lead on their Northern California rivals.

"We came out hard and we know they had a couple of wins this past week," Andrew Poturalski said of the team's quick start. "They're a hot team so we wanted to get on them early and I felt like we did that."

San Jose would respond, tying the game with two goals in the final two minutes of the second period.

After a scoreless third period, the two teams went to overtime, where Jayden Halbgewachs scored the game's deciding goal, squeaking a backhanded shot through Anthony Stolarz just 37 seconds into the extra session.

San Diego liked its effort, finishing the game with 44 shots and creating several scoring opportunities. Head coach Kevin Dineen felt the formula will lead to more success.

"We felt like there were some plays that we didn't finish on," he explained following the loss. "We felt like there were some plays that were preventable that ended up in our own net and ended up as scoring chances. At the end of it there's different areas you can point at. We walk out feeling good about our game - we feel rotten we that we left a point on the table - but at the end of it we had a lot of opportunities."
