Gulls Sign McParland and Tesink to PTO's

The San Diego Gulls today announced that the American Hockey League (AHL) club has signed left wing Steve McParland and left wing Ryan Tesink to professional tryouts (PTO).

 

McParland, 28 (2/13/91), appeared in four games with San Diego earlier this season, recording one goal with a +1 rating and two penalty minutes (PIM) after signing a previous PTO on Dec. 27. The 5-11, 194-pound forward has scored 21-25=46 points with a +4 rating and 27 PIM in 53 games with the Idaho Steelheads of the ECHL this season. At the time of his current PTO, McParland led Idaho in scoring, goals and ranked second in assists. A native of Schreiber, Ontario, McParland has appeared in 11 career AHL games with San Diego, Texas, Binghamton and Chicago, earning 1-1=2 points and 10 PIM. 

 

Tesink, 25 (5/21/93), appeared in one game on a prior PTO with San Diego this season in the club’s season opener on Oct. 6 at Tucson in his AHL debut. The 6-0, 175-pound forward has also gone scoreless in three games with San Antonio this season. A native of Saint John, New Brunswick, Tesink has scored 23-31=54 points with a +13 rating and 55 PIM in 58 games with the Tulsa Oilers of the ECHL this season, co-leading the club in assists and ranking second in scoring and goals. Selected by St. Louis in the sixth round (162nd overall) of the 2011 NHL Draft, Tesink has appeared in four career AHL games with San Diego and San Antonio.
