The San Diego Gulls defeated the Bakersfield Condors 3-0 in tonight's game at Mechanics Bank Arena.

Lukas Dostal earned his second career shutout - and the second of this franchise-record eight-game road trip - turning aside all 22 shots he faced. He becomes just the second goaltender in team history to record multiple shutouts in one season, joining the three Reto Berra posted in the 2017-18 season.

Trevor Carrick (1-1=2) and Alex Limoges (0-2=2) led the offense as San Diego snapped a three-game losing skid. Benoit-Olivier Groulx and Nikolas Brouillard (ENG) added goals as the Gulls evened their season series with the Condors.

Bakersfield goaltender Ilya Konovalov suffered his fourth loss in his last five games, stopping 22 of 24 shots.

Third Period Recap

Brouillard iced the win, sliding the puck into the empty net with less than three minutes left in regulation.

Limoges collected a Carrick clearing attempt at center ice, carrying the puck into the offensive zone. His shot at the empty net hit a Bakersfield defenseman, but the rookie altertly chased the rebound to the corner and found Brouillard alone in the faceoff circle. The defenseman slid the puck into the empty cage for his ninth goal of the season.

With an assist, Carrick earned a multi-point night (1-1=2) and has seven points (2-5=7) in his last six games. Limoges extended his point streak to three games (1-3=4).

Second Period Recap

Groulx took advantage of a turnover in the Bakersfield zone, adding to San Diego's lead late in the middle frame.

After Bakersfield successfully broke up a 2-on-1 rush, Jacob Perreault came crashing down near the goal line, poking the puck away from Raphael Lavoie. Groulx followed up, banking a shot off Bakersfield Condors netminder Ilya Konovalov and into the net for his eighth goal of the season.

The center earned goals in back-to-back games and has four points (2-2=4) in his last five games.

Dostal stopped all seven shots he faced in the second. The rookie netminder has 16 saves through 40 minutes.

First Period Recap

Carrick continued his impressive offensive run, opening the scoring at 4:32 of the opening frame.

Lucas Elvenes fed the puck to an active Axel Andersson, who collected it at center ice and moved into the high slot. The defenseman rifled a shot Bakersfield goaltender Ilya Konovalov turned aside, but chased the rebound to the side boards. He moved the puck to a waiting Carrick, who one-timed the shot past the Condors goaltender for his seventh goal of the season.

Over his last six games, the defenseman is averaging a point-per-game (2-4=6).

Konovalov stopped five shots in the first. The Russian goaltender is making his second consecutive start and entered tonight at 4-5-3 with a 2.81 GAA and .894 SV% this season. In three games against San Diego, Konovalov is 2-0-1 with a 1.29 GAA and .944 SV%.

Dostal is in net for the Gulls, starting the night strong with nine saves. The Gulls netminder made his most difficult stop with just under three minutes remaining, sliding across his crease to chest away an attempt by James Hamblin.

Dostal, making his seventh straight start, enters tonight 12-10-0 with one shutout, a 2.76 goals-against average (GAA) and .913 save percentage (SV%). He's allowed four goals in three straight starts, posting an 0-2-0 with one no decision over that stretch. He's gone 1-2-0 in three games against Bakersfield this season.
