Gulls Kick Off Six-Game Homestand vs. Condors

Mar 4, 2024

There really is no place like home.

The San Diego Gulls begin a six-game homestand at Pechanga Arena San Diego with a matchup against the Bakersfield Condors tonight (7 p.m. PST; TV: AHL TV; Radio: Gulls Audio Network).

Tonight’s game is the first of two makeup games at Pechanga Arena with Bakersfield, as the two teams had their original back-to-back in early January postponed.

It’s also a rare Monday game for the Gulls, as it is just the 10th time in the team’s AHL history they will play on Monday. The Gulls are 2-4-2-1 all-time in those games.

The Gulls are coming off a tough game in Ontario that saw them held off the scoresheet for the second time this season, dropping a 3-0 game to the Reign Friday night. Calle Clang was the lone bright spot, stopping 19-of-21 shots.

There’s been a bit of a shuffle in personnel in the Gulls locker room, as All-Star defenseman Olen Zellweger and goaltender Alex Stalock were both called up to the Anaheim Ducks over the weekend. Forward Blake McLaughlin and defensemen Anthony Costantini and Luka Profaca were added to the roster from Tulsa, with McLaughlin and Profaca being inserted into the lineup on Friday.

Monday marks the first of three games this week. San Diego will also host Coachella Valley on Wednesday and Friday, both at 7 p.m
