Gulls Fall to Condors 5-3

The San Diego Gulls fell to the Bakersfield Condors tonight at Dignity Health Arena, 5-3.
Just 1:17 into the first period, Roger McQueen opened the scoring up with his first professional and career AHL goal. The young forward has collected points in his first three professional games with tonight’s goal and two previous assists.
Bakersfield responded with two before Justin Bailey found the back of the net to tie the game. Bailey has found eight of his 23 goals this season against the Condors, scoring in all but one game of the season series. Bailey is now tied for the fourth-place spot of most goals scored in a single season by a Gulls skater.
Sasha Pastujov found a late goal to try to close the score gap. Pastujov leads all Gulls skaters in points this season with 21-34=55 total, 8-7=15 of those being found in his past 10 contests.
The crease was protected by Calle Clang who saved 28-of-33 shots. Clang has appeared in 35 games this season, finding an overall 2.81 GAA and .896 SV%.
Matthew Phillips added two assists to his total this season. Phillips has found 2-4=6 points in his past five contests and holds 14-35=49 points total. Sam Colangelo also tallied two assists tonight. Colangelo has found 1-5=6 points in his past three games and holds 11-23=34 points total.
San Diego and Bakersfield will get right back at it tomorrow night to close out their regular season series at Dignity Health Arena (7 p.m. PDT).
