There’s nothing like some Sunday hockey.

Tonight, the San Diego Gulls hit the rink at Pechanga Arena San Diego for their fourth and final standoff with the Calgary Wranglers (5 p.m. PST).

The Gulls have rocked the ice in the Wrangler’s building up north this season.

Their last meetings were in early February at Calgary which saw the Gulls dominate play and leave their mark on the Wranglers in historic back-to-back nights.

On Feb. 9, San Diego garnered a 5-0 win over the opponent, where Tomas Suchanek stopped all 38 Calgary shots for his second shutout of the season. That night was also highlighted by Chase De Leo, who tallied four points (2-2=4) and broke the tie for most assists in Gulls AHL history.

On Feb. 10, San Diego earned a commanding 7-4 victory in a night where the Gulls scored five power-play goals and killed eight of nine penalties. Glenn Gawdin recorded five points (1-4=5) and iced the game with an empty netter.

Their most recent match Friday night at Pechanga Arena saw detailed play from San Diego in a tightly contested back-and-forth battle with the Texas Stars, though they ultimately fell short 4-2.

Heading into tonight’s rare Sunday showdown, the Gulls get set to hunt for a victory that will mark their first win over Calgary on home ice and the final win of their regular season-series with the opponent.

After tonight, San Diego gears up for a mid-week matchup with the Bakersfield Condors on Wednesday, Mar. 27 at Pechanga Arena San Diego (7 p.m. PST).
