The San Diego Gulls are set for their last Tuesday tango of the season tonight as they enter the first of back-to-back games with the Colorado Eagles at Blue Arena (6:05 p.m. PST).

While tonight begins San Diego’s final pair of duels of the final extended road swing, it also brings a first, as the Gulls will spread their wings in the Eagles’ building for the first time this season.

The battle between the birds thus far has featured two contests at Pechanga Arena San Diego, where San Diego brought home a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Colorado on Feb. 3, while the Eagles captured a three-goal advantage over the Gulls early in the season on Nov. 11.

In their latest play, Colorado fell one goal short in both back-to-back rounds to the Tucson Roadrunners.

For San Diego, their latest action featured a tight 2-1 tilt Sunday afternoon as the Gulls fell just short to the top-ranked Coachella Valley Firebirds who grabbed the lead in the final minutes of regulation at Acrisure Arena.

The match saw Drew Helleson net his fourth goal of the season, giving him goals in back-to-back games for the first time in his career. Andrew Agozzino earned his team-leading 38th assist of the season on Helleson’s goal while Pavol Regenda recorded his 14th helper in his 101th career AHL game.

San Diego has taken two victories of three contests completed on their current five-game road campaign. Tonight, they will aim to double up on their wins over Colorado as they continue to compete through the end of this season with purpose and pride.

The Gulls will be back for more with the Eagles tomorrow night, Wednesday, April 17 at Blue Arena for the final faceoff of their season series (6:05 p.m. PST).
