The San Diego Gulls fell to the Henderson Silver Knights tonight, 4-3.

Despite the loss, San Diego put up a fight and kept the game close.

Henderson opened the scoring with two goals logged in the first period, but a power play to begin the second period allowed Tristan Luneau to get the Gulls on the board and record his first goal of the season. The goal was assisted by Matthew Phillips and Sasha Pastujov, who have both logged assists in back-to-back games.

The Gulls did not trail for long as Judd Caulfield found the net to tie the game. Forwards Tim Washe and Yegor Sidorov logged their first assists of the season.

Henderson took the lead back after scoring a power play goal, following a slashing call on Nico Myatovic.

Gulls captain Ryan Carpenter made every second of the middle frame count, scoring with just 39 seconds left to tie the game back up. Noah Warren had the lone assist on the goal, his second this season.

The Silver Knights were able to score one more in the third period, giving them the win.

Goaltender Ville Husso saved 18 of 22 shots, keeping the game alive.

The Gulls look to bounce back on Wednesday, Oct. 22 at Pechanga Arena San Diego against the Colorado Eagles (7 p.m. PDT ; TV: AHLTV on FloHockey; Radio: Gulls Audio Network).
