Gulls Defeat Silver Knights for Third Straight Victory
Dec 12, 2025
The San Diego Gulls logged their third consecutive win tonight as they defeated the Henderson Silver Knights at Pechanga Arena San Diego, 4-1.
The net was once again defended by Calle Clang, who has now only allowed a combined three goals and has a .956 save percentage in his past three starts.
Nikolas Brouillard picked up a historical assist, as he became the first defenseman in Gulls AHL history to record 100 points as a Gull.
"It's definitely an honor," Brouillard said. "Like I said before, San Diego gave me my chance here, and I'm really happy to be here and to achieve that achievement. It definitely is an honor for me and I love this city, I love this team, I love the fans so I'm really proud of that."
The scoring started for San Diego with just one minute and 23 seconds remaining in the second period when Matthew Phillips tied it up. This ended a 13-game goal drought for the forward and gave him 4-15=19 points this season.
"That was a huge goal to tie it up and take some pressure off of us, and I think it gave us a ton of momentum and a ton of energy," Ryan Carpenter said. "Even though he's one of maybe the smaller guys in our team, the guy's tenacious and inside and hard to play against every night. I think even the last few games, he's had tons of chances in his line so it's nice."
San Diego came out hot in the third period as Carpenter fought through traffic to break the tie, ending an eight-game goal drought for himself. Sasha Pastujov followed close behind, netting one just 25 seconds later. Pastujov has now recorded 2-2=4 points in his past three games. Stian Solberg added on for good measure as he sunk an empty netter to end the final frame.
The Gulls look to extend their streak to four tomorrow night as they play game two of this series against the Silver Knights at Pechanga Arena (6 p.m. PT).
