Gulls Open Final Homestand Against Barracuda

In the first of their final extended homestand of the 2023-24 season, the San Diego Gulls will face the San Jose Barracuda tonight at Pechanga Arena San Diego (7 p.m. PDT; TV: AHL TV; Radio: Gulls Audio Network).

The Gulls haven’t had much success this season against the Barracuda, as despite San Jose being last in the Western Conference, they haven’t been able to topple the ‘Cuda in each of their first three contests.

San Diego will have the help of a few new faces, though, as highly touted Anaheim Ducks prospect Sam Colangelo joins the forward core on a PTO and defenseman Andrew Lucas bolsters the blueline on an ATO. Both players will have their first opportunity to make their professional debuts tonight on home ice.

Chase De Leo made history in last Saturday’s contest against Tucson, as he became the franchise’s all-time leader in points after picking up his 182nd point as a Gull, surpassing Sam Carrick. De Leo is riding a five-game assist streak entering tonight.

Andrew Agozzino also set a record of his own on Saturday, depositing his 13th power-play goal of the season, a Gulls record for a single season.

The Gulls will welcome the Tucson Roadrunners for two more contests this weekend beginning on Saturday night (6 p.m. PDT).
