Ducks Assign Lukas Dostal To San Diego Gulls

The Anaheim Ducks announced today the National Hockey League (NHL) club made the following roster move. Anaheim’s Training Camp roster now includes 29 players (16 forwards, 10 defensemen and three goaltenders). 

Assigned to San Diego (AHL):
Lukas Dostal - Goaltender

Released to Junior Team:
Olen Zellweger - Defenseman (Everett of WHL)

Dostal, 21 (6/22/00), went 15-9-0 with a 2.87 GAA and .916 SV% in 24 games with San Diego last season, his first with the team. He ranked second among AHL goaltenders in saves (813) and third in wins (15). Among rookie AHL netminders, he ranked second in SV% (.916) and fourth in GAA (2.87).

The Brno, Czech Republic native stopped 29-of-30 shots for a win in his AHL debut, becoming the youngest netminder to post a win with the Gulls (20 years, 233 days) on February 5 against the Bakersfield Condors. He also posted a five-game win streak from Feb. 5-17 with a 2.00 GAA and .950 SV% to begin his career, becoming the first San Diego netminder to win each of his first five starts with the club (5-0-0). He would later set a Gulls rookie record with an eight-game winning streak (8-0-0) from Mar. 31 - Apr. 30.
