Anaheim Ducks Recall Glenn Gawdin, Assign Pavol Regenda To San Diego

The Anaheim Ducks announced today the National Hockey League (NHL) club has recalled center Glenn Gawdin from the San Diego Gulls, Anaheim’s primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL). The club also assigned left wing Pavol Regenda to San Diego.
 
Gawdin, 25 (3/25/97), has recorded one assist (0-1=1) in nine career NHL games with the Calgary Flames (2020-22), including two contests with the club in 2021-22. The 6-1, 191-pound forward began 2022-23 with San Diego, scoring 3-3=6 points with eight penalty minutes (PIM) in seven AHL contests to co-lead the Gulls in goals and rank tied for third in points.
 
Originally selected by St. Louis in the fourth round (116th overall) of the 2015 NHL Draft, Gawdin has recorded 49-105=154 points with a +23 record in 208 career AHL games. The Richmond, British Columbia native spent the majority of 2021-22 with Stockton, Calgary’s primary affiliate in the AHL, scoring 15-35=50 points, ranking tied for second in assists and third in points among team leaders.
 
Regenda, 22 (12/7/99), began the season with Anaheim, recording two points (0-2=2) in five NHL games. The 6-4, 212-pound forward recorded his first two career NHL points (both assists) and added a +2 rating Oct. 17 at the New York Rangers after making his NHL debut Oct. 12 vs. Seattle. Regenda led the Ducks in preseason scoring (3-4=7) in six exhibition contests.
 
A native of Michalovce, Slovakia, Regenda helped Slovakia to a bronze medal at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, scoring 1-3=4 points with a +5 rating. He also represented his country at the 2022 World Championship, leading Slovakia in goals (5) while ranking tied for second among team leaders in scoring (5-1=6 points in eight games). Regenda also appeared at the 2019 World Junior Championship (1-2=3 in five games) and 2017 U-18 World Championship.
 
Regenda appeared in 93 career Extraliga games (2020-22) with HK Dukla Michalovce, recording 26-38=64 points with a +20 rating and 119 PIM. He spent the 2021-22 season with HK Dukla Michalovce of the Slovakian Extraliga, leading all players 22-and-younger with 15-24=39 points in 43 games. Regenda led HK Dukla Michalovce in plus/minus (+17), while ranking second in points, goals and assists. He also led HK Dukla Michalovce in postseason goals (5) and co-led the club with 5-1=6 points in six playoff contests.
