Ducks Select Right Wing Jacob Perreault 27th Overall in 2020 NHL DraftOct 6, 2020
With the 27th overall pick in the 2020 NHL Draft, the Ducks selected Jacob Perreault from Sarnia of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). The 5-foot-11, 192-pound right wing ranked second on the Sting in scoring with 70 points (39g/31a) in 57 games - a 15-point improvement over his 2018-19 rookie season (30g/25a). Perreault, 18 (4/15/02), was named to the OHL First All-Rookie Team in 2018-19 after becoming just the fifth 16-year-old rookie in the league since 2009-10 to reach the 30-goal mark.
Hockey runs in the Perreault family. His dad, Yanic, was a third-round pick by the Toronto Maple Leafs in 1991 (47th overall) and recorded 516 points (247g/269a) in 859 career NHL games with the Maple Leafs, LA Kings, Montreal Canadiens, Nashville Predators, Phoenix Coyotes and Chicago Blackhawks. His sister, Liliane, is a forward who skated for Mercyhurst University in 2019-20.
