Star Wars Night comes to Pechanga Arena

San Diego hosts the rival Ontario Reign at Pechanga Arena San Diego during its annual Star Wars Night at 7 p.m. (TV: AHL TV, Radio: Gulls Audio Network). Fans are encouraged to wear their favorite Star Wars apparel for a chance to win a Gulls Prize Pack during the Pregame Tailgate. No replica weapons/light sabers will be permitted inside the arena; all masks must be removed prior to going through security screening and for any alcohol purchases.
The Gulls will also wear themed warmups jerseys, available for auction until 10 minutes after the final horn. The Gulls Foundation will also raffle off jerseys at Section 10. The raffle will conclude at the end of the second intermission. All proceeds with benefit Rady Children's Hospital Auxiliary.
On the ice, San Diego will look to continue its torrid offensive streak. Since November 1, the Gulls are 6-1-0-0 against their opponents, outscoring them 36-21 over that span. The team defeated Ontario at Toyota Arena last night, skating away with the 6-2 win.
Chris Wideman led the way offensively, recording a three-point night (2g/1a) in the win.
“You play for each other. It’s a team and these guys are playing for each other,” Head Coach Kevin Dineen said after the win. “I think that resonates pretty strongly with them. When we play the correct way, we feel like we can play with anybody. On an individual basis, I think we’ve seen some real growth in our players. Guys are really starting to understand their roles within the team. It adds up at the end of the night and good things are happening for us.”
