The San Diego Gulls could not pull out a win tonight against the Abbotsford Canucks at Rogers Forum, falling 3-1.

The lone San Diego goal was scored by Yegor Sidorov in the second after finding the back of the net off a rebound. The 21-year-old holds 9-10=19 points this season and has logged points in back-to-back games (1-1=2).

Calle Clang made his third consecutive start in net and allowed only two goals on 22 shots as Abbotsford’s final goal was scored on an empty net.

San Diego was able to put up 24 shots but couldn’t find a way to get the equalizer. The Gulls were perfect on the penalty kill, going 3-for-3, but could not find a way to put the puck in through their five powerplays.

The Gulls look for redemption tomorrow as they return to Rogers Forum to finish out this back-to-back series and complete their road trip (4 p.m. PST).
