The Gulls training camp roster certainly delivers on star power.

The team released the list of players participating today, listing the 11 forwards, eight defenseman and two goaltenders currently participating at Great Park Ice and FivePoint Arena in Irvine. Camp began Monday, January 11, and will feature six exhibition contests against Pacific Division opponents.

San Diego's roster includes 10 Anaheim Ducks draft picks, including the team's last four first round selections - Jamie Drysdale (sixth overall, 2020 NHL Draft), Jacob Perreault (27th overall, 2020 NHL Draft), Trevor Zegras (ninth overall, 2019 NHL Draft) and Brayden Tracy (29th overall, 2019 NHL Draft). They join two former second-round selections (Antoine Morand, Benoit-Olivier Groulx) and third-round selections (Josh Mahura, Lukas Dostal) and one former fourth-rounder (Jack Kopacka) and sixth-rounder (Hunter Drew).

The Gulls roster also includes the return of their team captain, Sam Carrick, who earned 23-20=43 points with a +27 rating and 40 PIM last season with the Gulls. He became the first Gull to score 20 goals in back-to-back seasons. Carrick also led San Diego in scoring, goals, plus/minus, shorthanded goals (4), shots (144), co-led in power-play goals (5), and ranked second in assists (29).

His +27 rating also led all AHL forwards and ranked second among all skaters.

Chase De Leo also returns for his third year with the Gulls. The La Mirada, CA native ranked second among San Diego leaders in shots (134) and tied for fifth in scoring (25). He also scored a career-high three shorthanded goals, which tied for the second most single-season shorthanded markers in Gulls history and ranked tied for fourth among AHL leaders.

Newcomers include veteran Keegan Lowe, the former captain of the Bakersfield Condors, and goaltender Jeff Glass. In total, the Gulls training camp roster features a combined 508 games played in the American Hockey League last season.
