The San Diego Gulls will play a rematch against the Colorado Eagles tonight at Pechanga Arena San Diego (5 p.m PST; TV: AHLTV on FloHockey; Radio: Gulls Audio Network).

The teams last faced off on Oct. 22, where the Gulls couldn’t solve the Eagles, falling 2-0. Since then, Colorado has worked their way to the top of the Pacific Division, sitting at 7-2-0-0.

"You know how good they are producing," head coach Matt Mcllvane said. "Offense is difficult. Their goaltending has been hot. Their team’s defense is good. They're winning for a reason. We played them tough. 1-0 game almost all the way through, and one bounce here or there, and little tweaks that we know we can make. We're ready for the fight."

On Thursday, the Gulls fell to the Coachella Valley Firebirds in overtime. San Diego put up a tough fight, responding to Coachella Valley from the start.

After the Firebirds scored two in a row, Matthew Phillips responded with an unassisted goal. Justin Bailey then found the net for the first time this season, tying the game after Nico Myatovic delivered him the puck. Yegor Sidorov joined the fun, burying a one-timer to give the Gulls the lead. Phillips logged his seventh assist and ninth point this season on the goal, a team-leading record. Captain Ryan Carpenter was also credited his second assist. The Firebirds victory came down to a shot that bounced off a Gulls defender in overtime.

"We're kind of sticking to what we're doing," Bailey said. "We're looking at the metrics analytically, and everything's kind of showing that we’re doing a lot of good things, obviously. At the end of the day, you want results, but the resiliency and the stick to it of this team has been great start the year."

The Gulls will next take on the Henderson Silver Knights for the fourth time this season on Wednesday Nov. 5 at Lee’s Family Forum (7 p.m. PST).
