The San Diego Gulls will face off against the Henderson Silver Knights for the fourth time this season at Lee’s Family Forum (7 p.m. PST; TV: AHLTV on FloHockey; Radio: Gulls Audio Network).
The Gulls have faced the Silver Knights more than any other opponent so far this season. San Diego currently has a 0-2-1-0 record against Henderson and looks to take a win tonight. Henderson sits second in the Pacific Division and holds a current record of 7-1-1-0.
"We know the Henderson team well now," head coach Matt Mcllvane said. "We're still looking for our best against them, and we'll be ready to show it."
San Diego’s last appearance was on Sunday, Nov. 2 at Pechanga Arena San Diego where they fell short to the Colorado Eagles, 3-1.
The lone Gulls goal came from Matthew Phillips, who leads the team in points (3-7=10) and is in the midst of a three-game point streak. Tim Washe logged an assist which marked his sixth point this season. Yegor Sidorov extended his point streak to four games with an assist that brought his total points up to five. Ville Husso stopped 26 of 28 shots in net.
"Only [gave] up two goals, and [Ville] Husso was playing good again for us tonight, so we've gotten good goaltending pretty much all year," Captain Ryan Carpenter said. "As forwards and as one of the older guys on the team, got to find ways to score more goals and make it harder for the other goalie."
San Diego’s next appearance will be on Friday, Nov. 7 at Pechanga Arena San Diego where they will take on the Ontario Reign for the first time this season (7 p.m.).
