The San Diego Gulls and Henderson Silver Knights will meet up for their second consecutive contest as they complete their back-to-back series at Lee’s Family Forum tonight (6 p.m. PST; TV: AHLTV on FloHockey; Radio: Gulls Audio Network).

San Diego and Henderson will wrap up the first half of their season series tonight in game two of their back-to-back and game four of their season series. The teams will meet again in just under a month on Tuesday, Dec. 1 back at Lee’s Family Forum. The Silver Knights currently lead the series going 2-1-0-0 over the Gulls.

The teams battled it out last night with Henderson pulling off a 1-0 shutout win over San Diego. Despite the loss, the Gulls outshot the Silver Knights 31-18 and held the team to just eight shots in the final 40 minutes of the game. The effort was there from the Gulls, but they could not find a way past the Silver Knights’ Carl Lindbom.

"You just got to keep pushing," left wing Drew Elliott said. "Eventually, if you get pucks to the net, it's going to go in. Unfortunately, he [Carl Lindbom] had a good game, but we got to stay at it and bounce back tomorrow and get that win."

Following last night’s contest, the Gulls hold a 1-3-1-0 record in first games of back-to-backs. The team has found more success in second games going 3-0-1-0 and look to add to that record. San Diego is aware of the increased momentum needed in the second half of the series and have proven they can find success there in the past.

"Well, it's a good league, so we have to make sure we get ourselves ready to go," head coach Dave Manson said. "We need the same type of effort that we got in the second and third. They're going to be better, and we have to make sure we match it and find a way to generate a little bit more inside."

Following their perfect 2-for-2 penalty kill last night, the Gulls hold an 88.3% success rate on the kill this season. While the team has struggled more on the power play, going 6-for-43, they have utilized their abilities when down a skater, ranking fifth in the Pacific Division. The team is tied for least penalized in the league with just 96 PIM.

The Gulls are now in seventh place in their division with a 5-5-2-0 record and 12 points. Tonight gives them an opportunity to climb the rankings and add two points to their total. San Diego will next head back home to take on the San Jose Barracuda on Wednesday, Nov. 11 at Pechanga Arena San Diego (7 p.m. PST).
