Gulls Shutout by Silver Knights
Nov 6, 2026The San Diego Gulls were shutout by the Henderson Silver Knights tonight at Lee’s Family Form, 1-0.
Damian Clara protected the crease for the fifth time this season. Tonight marked his third appearance against the Silver Knights this year, making him the only Gulls goaltender the team has played against. The netminder saved 17-of-18 shots, bringing his season record to 2-1-2.
It was a disciplined game as both sides were penalized just twice and stayed perfect on their penalty kills. Each team went on the power play once in the first period and once in the second while the third period was solely five-on-five hockey until San Diego pulled Clara late in the third for an extra skater.
Tonight’s game was one of goaltending as the Gulls were able to outshoot the Silver Knights 31-18 and allowed them just one goal in the first period. The second period saw the most action around the net by the Gulls as they put up a period season-high 14 shots on goal while holding the Silver Knights to just four. This matches the least number of shots put on by an opponent in the second period against San Diego this season, both times being against Henderson. The final frame saw a new period season-low of shots by opponents as Henderson once again only found four while San Diego put up 10. Despite these efforts, the Gulls could not find the back of the net.
Gulls forward Nathan Gaucher made his 200th career AHL appearance tonight. The 2022 first round draft pick has posted 34-42=76 points, 210 PIM, and a +8 rating in his career. Coulson Pitre made his season debut tonight after missing the start of the season due to injury. Pitre has appeared in 86 career AHL games, posting 5-16=23 points with 23 PIM.
San Diego looks to regain their momentum tomorrow as they hit the ice right back at Lee’s Family Forum to wrap up this series with Henderson (6 p.m. PST).
