Gulls Come Up Short in First Shootout of Season

The San Diego Gulls fell to the Henderson Silver Knights 2-1 in a shootout at Pechanga Arena San Diego tonight. 

Tomas Suchanek played a pivotal role tonight as he made his second appearance in goal this season, saving 24 of 25 shots in regulation.  

The Gulls were scoreless up until the final frame, when Tim Washe netted the goal which erupted the arena into cheers as he released the stuffed animals for the Teddy Bear Toss.  

With San Diego and Henderson only finding one goal each through regulation and overtime, the Gulls entered their first shootout of the season. Matthew Phillips was the lone Gull to find the net.  

San Diego and Henderson will wrap this three-game series up on Tuesday, Dec. 16 at Lee’s Family Forum (7 p.m. PT).
