San Diego Gulls Name TJ Chillot As Play-By-Play Announcer
Sep 30, 2026The San Diego Gulls announced today that the American Hockey League (AHL) club has named TJ Chillot its next play-by-play broadcaster. Chillot becomes the voice of the Gulls for all preseason, regular season and postseason games broadcasted on AHL TV and the Gulls Audio Network, the organization’s 24/7 audio streaming network.
Chillot brings over eight years of hockey broadcast experience between the AHL, North American Hockey League (NAHL) and Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL). Prior to joining the Gulls, Chillot spent four seasons with the Charlotte Checkers of the AHL from 2021-2025 where he called over 240 games including the Checkers’ 2024-25 Calder Cup Finals appearance.
From 2018-2021, Chillot was the voice of the Austin Bruins of the NAHL. He was named the NAHL’s Top Prospects broadcaster as well as the Voice of the Robertson Cup. In 2017-18, Chillot was named SPHL Broadcaster of the Year during his one season with the Mississippi RiverKings.
A native of Allentown, Pa. Chillot will take over as host of the Gulls’ magazine style YouTube show Gulls All Access and team podcast From the Nest. He moves to San Diego with his two dogs Queenie and Maeve.
