The San Diego Gulls and San Jose Barracuda will meet up for their third contest of the season tonight at Tech CU Arena (7 p.m. PT; TV: AHLTV on FLoHockey; Radio: Gulls Audio Network).

The teams last met on Nov. 19 when San Jose was able to pull out an overtime win at Pechanga Arena San Diego. Since then, the Barracuda have risen to second place in the Pacific Division with a record of 13-7-1-1 and 28 points. The Gulls rank seventh in the division with 22 points and an 8-6-6-0 record with two less contests completed. San Jose is coming off a loss to the Tucson Roadrunners while San Diego is coming off a 5-1 victory over the Texas Stars.

"We’re expecting a hard game," Jan Mysak said. "They have a good team too. It’s going to be a battle and we’re ready for it. We’re excited."

San Diego’s victory over Texas resulted from a complete game with Calle Clang’s return to goal and three different skaters logging multi-point nights. Clang saved 18- of- 19 shots after not appearing in net for almost a month due to a personal leave of absence. Tim Washe logged two goals, Sasha Pastujov a goal and assist, and Justin Bailey two assists. Mysak and Nico Myatovic also netted a goal apiece.

"Hopefully it just becomes a trend," assistant coach Michael Babcock said. "You want springboards for success and that’s a great task for us and it’s great that we can play with that kind of consistency. Now it’s just doing it again on Wednesday. We want to keep that going for the rest of the year obviously but the biggest thing we can take from it is how hard we played, how great guys were, and the collective effort in general."

Following tonight's game, San Diego will host the Henderson Silver Knights at Pechanga Arena San Diego on Friday, Dec.12 and Saturday Dec. 13. This will be the last home series for the Gulls before they hit the road before the Christmas break.
