The San Diego Gulls are seeking redemption against the Texas Stars tonight in game two of the non-divisional weekend series at Pechanga Arena San Diego tonight (5 p.m. PT; TV: AHLTV on FloHockey; Radio: Gulls Audio Network).

The Gulls and Stars faced off on Friday night when the Stars took the match in overtime. The Gulls have picked up 10 points in their past 10 games but continue to struggle with taking overtime wins.

"It’s six games we lost in overtime now, I think we need to find ways to win," defenseman Tyson Hinds said. “Like I said, having one point games is nothing to celebrate. No, it's not fun losing and I think we all know it's a big thing and we know we need to be better in overtime. Hopefully we get the chance to practice it and kind of do video on it to learn what we need to do better here, because obviously it's a big flaw in the game."

Friday night saw Tomas Suchanek take the net in an AHL contest for the first time in nearly 600 days, where he made 21 saves. Suchanek missed the entire 2024-25 season due to a torn ACL and started the 2025-26 season with the Tulsa Oilers of the ECHL.

"It's great to have him back," Hinds said. "We're all proud of him, and with the recovery, it's tough to recover from that injury. So, we're proud of him. We're proud of his performance."

Tonight marks the second game of a busy December schedule for San Diego. Following tonight, the Gulls will head to San Jose for a matchup with the Barracuda before a quick turnaround back to Pechanga Arena for a weekend back-to-back with the Henderson Silver Knights.
